JYP Entertainment is currently looking for undiscovered talents in small towns in Korea.
Since March 19, JYP Entertainment has started to look for new recruitment in the small towns of Jeolla Province for 40 days. JYP Entertainment has previously held open recruitment in Korea’s five largest cities, but now they will be looking for the hidden talents in small towns. Last year, auditions were held in Gangwon Province and now they are looking in Jeolla.
JYP Entertainment’s casting manger will be doing street casting along with visiting schools, academies, and local events to look for recruits. This year, it will be easier for hopefuls to find the casting manager because he will be updating his location through social networking sites (SNS) such as Facebook and Twitter.
Since casting began in mid March, JYP Entertainment has been receiving numerous responses from applicants. Many have left posts on their internet cafe with information regarding their talents, and it has been reported that the casting managers are busier than ever because they are using a variety of methods to find recruits.
JYP Entertainment’s Rookie Development Team said, “We hold auditions in the large cities, but many talents still have a hard time arriving there. We do not want to miss a single opportunity at finding a talented candidate so we have set out to start casting in small towns. We have started in Gangwon and Jeolla Province, and soon we will go around the entire country to give opportunities to hidden talents. We hope for a lot of participation from those dreaming to become the next generation’s leader of K-Pop.”
