KARA kicked off their first Japan concert, “KARASIA” on April 14th, and they have been receiving much love from their Japanese fans. The tour started in Japan’s Yokohama Arena on April 14th and 15th, welcoming 20,000 fans total.

The Japanese fans in the arena did not seem to be bothered by the rain that lasted all day, as they cheered and applauded for the KARA members. The audience for this concert was noticeably different from other first generation Hallyu audiences. While the main audience for the first generation was mostly middle-aged Japanese mothers, KARA’s concert brought in audience members from different age-groups, from teenagers to those in their 40s and 50s.

Security guards within the area worked hard to improve the concert experience. Staying crouching in the front of the audience for a full three hours, they made sure not to block anyone’s view. However, it was clear that they were suffering, since they could be seen massaging their legs and moving around carefully.

The KARA members themselves were especially pleased to see the support from their fans, as they all collaborated to form a “peach sea” by using their official KARA light sticks. Ultimately, the energy from the members and the fans helped to make the first tour stop a memorable experience.
