Actor Chun Ho Jin who is seen in the photo will be making his return to the musical scene for the first time in ten years, playing the role of a politician who does not acknowledge gay individuals. Actor Jung Sung Hwa, also shown in the photo, will be playing a role of Albin, a singer who performs at the ‘La Cage Aux Folles’ club.
At the rehearsals, actor Lee Dong Ha played the role of son Jean-Michel, and Lee Min Ho & Changmin who have been cast as the same character were busy taking photos of the actors acting out the role, as well as rapidly taking notes.
Director Seo Byung Kyu who is in charge of the choreography for ‘La Cage’ remarked, “It would not be a stretch to say that I was born to [direct] ‘La Cage’. I am so happy to be able to display this performance for the Korean fans.”
“The techniques of the group dances consume a lot of physical energy, however, we will be able to introduce new entertainment to the audience that’s fresh and different,” he continued.
A representative from AGA Company remarked, “After we began our rehearsals in May, the cast members have been sweating bullets working as one in order to more perfectly refine the show. They openly share their ideas and thoughts and manage to maintain an upbeat and enjoyable atmosphere during rehearsals.”
‘La Cage Aux Folles’ is a joint project put on by AGA Company, CJ E&M, and PMC Productions. The musical tells the story of a gay couple: Georges, the owner of a trendy nightclub, and his partner and main attraction, Albin, and the events that unfold when their son Jean-Michel brings home his fiancée’s conservative parents to meet his own. It is a fresh and different kind of comedy that is sure to offer laughs and tears to the audience members.
The first show opens July 4th, and the show will run for two months until September 4th at the LG Arts Center.;
